Her sculptural ceramic works are built by hand using a combination of materials such as terracotta and gold glaze, and southern ice porcelain and indigo pigment. Her work explores how we come to exist within different environments and our relationship to physical and emotional spaces. She is interested in the process of making work in ceramic and the tension between the function and fragility of the medium.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eStanden was the recipient of the Cite Internationale des Arts Residency in Paris, which she attended in January 2019, and has completed further residencies in Geneva, Tel Aviv and at the Harley Foundation in the UK.
